Vellum Card Project

Cardstock is not the only thing you can use to send that special greeting. For a delicate, airy look, try vellum instead.

Materials Needed

A piece of speckled vellum 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
A piece of cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded to 5 1/2" xx 4 1/2"
Colored Markers (such as Marvy or Tombow)
Embossing ink pad
Gold embossing powder
Heat Gun
Flower stamp by Magenta
Glue or raffia

Directions

Fold the piece of vellum in half so that it now measures 4 1/2" x 5 1/5". Using the embossing pad, stamp the image of the flower onto the center of the vellum. Emboss as usual (if you don't know how to emboss, check our article on the subject in the techniques section).

Now unfold the vellum and, using the colored markers, color in the image on the back side. Because of the translucent qualities of the vellum, the colors will show on the front side. Don't worry if the markers streak a little, this is normal and will not affect the finished project.

Insert the finished vellum card over the folded carstock. Stamp any greeting that you'd like or write a special message on the inside of the cardstock

Attach the vellum outer card to the cardstock using a dot of glue on the back side or tie the two pieces together using a decorative piece of raffia.
